Marc Orchant and James Kendrick are back with show #40, yes, Marc is back for this show! Our hosts have a typically far-ranging discussion that covers diverse topics relating to the Tabletscape. They look analytically at the big news this week of the Acer/ Gateway merger and how this might impact the Tablet PC space. Dell is entering the Tablet market later this year and the impact on the enterprise market is fodder for meaningful discussion. Marc wants to know when we're going to see an application that is fitting of the capabilities of the Tablet PC and laments the fact we haven't seen one yet.
Tablet PCs aren't penetrating the enterprise much but employees of those enterprises see the benefits of the Tablet immediately upon exposure. Maybe Dell will help penetrate that market so employees can get their hands on them.
James is testing the HP 2710p Tablet PC and discusses how this Tablet straddles the enterprise and consumer space. Does the 2710p stack up? Inquiring minds want to know. The conclusion the hosts reach is that the trackstick is "flatly nubby". You have been warned.
Eric Mack interviewed Marc a while back and examined the contents of Marc's mobile gear bag and has posted a series of podcasts on his web site. The podcasts are well worth a listen so go grab them without further adieu.
Marc discusses his new blogging gig at BlogNation and the upcoming Office 2.0 conference where industry luminaries are meeting to discuss the mobilization of Web 2.0. Marc will be covering the conference on BlogNation and I'm sure he'll come back with some great insights for future shows.
Enjoy the show!
