Sprint joins $99 unlimited plan party, includes data services and more
This news ought to add to the debate we just started on the value of expensive 3G data services. Sprint has just followed the other major U.S. cellular carriers by announcing their own $99 unlimited plan. Only they did it right in my opinion. It's not just unlimited voice, but if I'm reading the press release correctly, it also includes unlimited "data, text, e-mail, Web-surfing, Sprint TVSM, Sprint Music, GPS Navigation, Direct Connect® and Group Connect®". Aptly, Sprint calls it the $99.99 "Simply Everything" plan.
I tend to stick with 3G modem cards for my connectivity, but at this rate, it's very attractive to go with a 3G-enabled phone on Sprint's network and use it for tethering, no?

It does NOT include using it as a modem, but even so, this is fantastic news! :) Besides the Phone-as-Modem service is $25-30 which is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Incidentally, the plan was originally announced a few weeks ago for limited areas at $120. When AT&T and Verizon announced their plans, obviously Sprint felt a need to one-up them.
Mmmmm, the sweet smell and taste of competition! :)
