Keychain camera tripod- how cool is that?

Use one of those cameras that will fit in a shirt pocket and always needing a tripod to mount that baby for the perfect picture?  What if you could pull your keys out of your pocket and open up a tripod to prop that camera right up proper?  That's just what you can do with the Manfrotto 797 Modo Pocket Camera Mount, a name much bigger than the tripod itself.  Just look how sweet this little mount is:

Well, as nifty as the gadget is, it isn't a tripod. It has four points that contact the surface upon whi it sits. It is a quadpod. The design could easily be changed to a trippod, but it isn't one as shown.

Now, you might think, 'well, a quadpod is better, because it has 1 more leg' but you would be mistaken. It takes three points to define a plane. A three legged stool (a tripod) can't wobble. A four legged stool can (and usually does). This is the reason that full size tripods, and not quadpods exist where portability isn't an issue and stability is.

That is awesome. Very handy.

Thanks for the link. I haven't ordered one yet. I just ordered a GorillaPod for SLR sized cameras so should have fun with that.
