Marc Orchant is in trouble

My very good friend Marc Orchant suffered a massive heart attack yesterday and is currently in critical care.  He is not expected to recover consciousness for a while and I will post any updates as soon as I get them.  I am posting this here as I know that a lot of Marc's friends read jkOTR and I want to make sure the word gets out.  Oliver Starr at Blognation has the complete details and will post information as it becomes available so check there too.  For those who wish to send flowers or cards Marc is at:

Presbyterian Hospital
Cardiac Care Unit Bed #3
1100 Central Ave SE
Albuquerque, NM 87106

Get well, buddy, please.

I'm having a hard time focusing on work today since hearing this tragic news. Marc, Sue & their family are in my thoughts and I wish Marc all the strength he needs to fight through this challenge.

Thanks for bringing this news to us, James, awful though it is. I worked with Marc at Weblogs, Inc. and had the happy opportunity to meet him (and Kevin) at our meetup in New York almost exactly two years ago, and chatting him up is one of my favorite memories of that event. He'll be in my thoughts.

My thoughts are with Marc and his family today as I wish the best for them.

Warm regards,
Aaron

Oh Jesus. I hope for a full recovery.

I just got a knot in my stomach from reading Starr's detailed report on exactly what happened. Coming from someone with an enlarged heart chamber (but fortunately healthy in each annual check so far), this was frightening to read. I will be thinking of Marc and hope that he has a speedy and full recovery.

FWIW, hug your loved ones a little closer each day, and never go to bed without saying "I Love You".

I am putting Mark on my prayer list today! Mark is a awesome guy and I hope we get to hear more from him as well as get to read more of his postings.

James...the work you and Marc did on the tabpc podcasts were a kind of lifeline for me as I worked my way into the mobile world. I've never had the luxury I've enjoyed with you of meeting Marc, but his incisive observations and gently wry attitude about this complex, fascinating genre have made him a welcome and highly respected cyber-guide. I'll be praying for him and his family. And somewhere in the back of my mind thinking of him with every stroke of my stylus today.

That was a shock when I read the actual post - as with all who have listened and read Marc's contributions - my thoughts and prayers go out to both him and his loved ones. Here's to a swift recovery.

Wish him well! So sad to hear that. I love listening to you two on the Tablet podcast.
