jkOnTheRun Video Geek Session- WiBrain UMPC

This video is the first of what we hope to be many video chats that Kevin and I will be posting about whatever geeky topic comes to mind.  That's the reason for the Video Geek Session tag as that is exactly what these sessions will be.  This inaugural chat is timely as today Kevin got a box from the FedEx man with a new WiBrain UMPC inside.  We take a look at the WiBrain and talk about the features of this innovative device and we think you'll enjoy it.   A big shout out to Dynamism for supplying the evaluation WiBrain for Kevin to test.

Let us know what you think about this session and whether you'd like to see this as a regular feature on jkOnTheRun.  Please ignore the minor audio annoyances at the beginning of the video, we'll figure out the best way to record these sessions as we go along.

I like the format. What did you use? Skype + Camtasia?

I vote for WiBrain as in WiFi...

Does it have HSDPA?
Does it have WiMax?

Do tell, do tell!

No integrated WWAN, which is why I'm concerned initially about the single USB port. I'd want that free for my 3G USB modem.

I LOVED the show...just please balance out the audio. Kevin was weak and JK was loud. Also a bit more light on Kevin's end. Maybe do a 20 second test recording and check it before taking the show on the road. Thanks as always for your great site and very interesting content. My boring old (but comfortable) Tosh R15 boots up every day to JKOTR.

Nice video. As another posted questioned, was this Skype? I thoght the video was very smooth

Loved this one too - but I want to know how you did the screen-in-screen! I want that! :D

Great video, a really fun way to take a quick look at a new tool. I enjoyed it.

My wife says it's a "wee-brain", as in I have a wee-brain for watching two guys ooh and aah over a little computer. She may be on to something there.

My vote: Why-brain.

And, I totally dig the format. Kevin was hard to hear but otherwise this is a great way to collaboratively review!

Two ugly guys and some tech....yeah, neat format.

The format was fantastic and I would personally love to see more of your conversations together perhaps on a regular basis. Its great to watch and by having you both on screen you kind of feel like your part of the conversation which obviously further involves the viewer.

Keep up the great work guys.

We used all Macs for the video. :)

Liked the format, give Kevin a mic though

Love the new format! i hope you will continue to iron out the kinks and continue to collaborate in the same fashion.

oh, and Wibrain as in WHYbrain

Let's not get Nintendo involved on this one guys!
;)

Why feels like a better fit to me, but that's just one punter's review!

Woadan

Might also be a good way to "Interview" people.

Hint, hint...

Thought I should point out that, at least in the case of the ones that Dynamism is shipping out, the WiBrain runs XP Home.

Raon Everun owns WiBrain! ;-)
