jkOnTheRun Video Geek Session- HTC Advantage
Yup, we've covered the HTC Advantage before, but while chatting today, James asked my opinion on the device. I just got a few minutes of playtime with it last week during our trip to New Mexico, so my first thoughts are shared. There's a brief overview of the device for those who haven't seen it followed by a some good banter on if this would be the one device we would take somewhere if we could only choose one device *gasp* to take.
We took your great feedback into account in this video chat... well, other than the comment about two ugly guys; there's only so much we can do there! ;) We used headsets this morning but there's an apparent echo that we have to work out yet, plus I think we need to invest in some production-quality lighting. Hey... on a blogger's salary, we have to make due, but we'll keep working towards improvements if people like the video chat format!

Hi, I am really interested in an Advantage. I am also moving to cloud computing, but what about a Nokia n8xx? I would think that this would be a better option, because of the ability to use ajax. Both devices are very similiar hardware, minus the 3g on the Nokia. So for me it comes down to operating system. I would love to hear your guys thoughts on this.
Thank you
Jon

To me, this is the "sleeper" device of the year. I could not leave the house without it!!

It sounds like a great device. If I could only get one with VPN support, Remote Desktop, and an Ethernet adapter.....

James and Kevin, please keep the geek-o-rama fest going.
I have a Motorola Q, and the HTC 8125 I had before that and the Moto Razr before that were all used with a BT headset. So from that perspective, the Advantage would be no different. (But I wonder why you guys don't appear to like the thought.)
I don't know enough otherwise to venture any comments.

Nice chat about the Advantage. I agree that its a good choice if you had to take just one device.
Have you guys tested the E90 yet? Its very similar in that it can do everything pretty well. The big advantage (!) I found with the E90 over the Advantage was that you can actually use it as a normal mobile phone.
Keep these chats going. Enjoying them.
Steve.

I am typing this response on my HTC Advantage. I am looking forward to watching your video; but I can't watch it on the HTC.

I recently purchased an Advantage, hoping to use it as my mobile office - primarily for having a selection of client documents with me when I do not want to carry my Tablet. My question is whether you use a program to sync your documents to your Advantage? If so, what program do you use?
Thank you.
