What buzzed this week in mobile tech
We saw a lot of different things creating buzz in the mobile tech world this past week. Here's our rundown of what we thought was important to follow:
- Apple Leopard happiness/ unhappiness was all over the web this past week. You either love it or not quite hate it, mostly people seem to love it.
- The Asus EEE PC is in people's hands and it's been a great ride this past week following everyone's reaction little Linux laptop. It seems to bring the kid out in some users (not Kevin of course) who act like they haven't seen a little laptop before.
- The Philadelphia Inquirer thinks jkOnTheRun is worth sharing with their readers.
- DId the slate die and nobody notice?
- Nokia is working on tactile feedback for touchscreens that promises to shake the tech world up.
- The Open Handset Alliance is all over the place with Google getting everyone excited about the new handset platform Android.
- Apple tablet rumors emerge once again.
- Nokia and Boingo release Boingo Mobile for easy WiFi access with Nokia handsets.
- Palm Access Linux Platform (ALP) details begin leaking, the tech world is unimpressed.
- Engadget plays with 64 GB SSD and are impressed. We were the first tech site that put a SSD-equipped UMPC though its paces and we could have told them they are a Very Good Thing (VGT).
Google has made me excited about Android too I'm afraid so I created a couple of websites about it!
A community for Android developers has been set up called www.androiddeveloper.com which aims to be a hub for developers using the platform.
Another site called www.androidmobileforum.com has been set up for everyone to discuss anything about Android mobile.
Hopefully these will be useful as Android becomes more popular and is talked about more.
