Q1 Ultra antenna hack increases signal strength, pokes out eyes

Q1ultraantenna

Andyman just wasn't impressed with the 3G signal strength on his Samsung Q1 Ultra. Like many other cool kids, he took the guts of an EV-DO modem and put them in the open mini-PCI Express slot, making his Q1 Ultra an integrated 3G device. Problem was: he was only getting two or three bars of signal strength using the internal antenna. Solution? An external antenna mod that looks like a WiFi antenna booster I have collecting dust here. The details are sketchy on the mod, but there's no doubt he's maxing out on his 3G speeds because he has full signal strength. He also has a new health plan to cover him in case he stabs himself in the eyes, but you know us mobile tech types... we like to live on the edge. Not to be confused with EDGE, that is.
