HP iPAQ is back: renderings of 600 and 900 series devices

Hp600900 I remember when the phrase "HP iPAQ" was synonymous with the top Windows Mobile devices; there was a model for every need and every budget. Slowly HP started to fade away in the market but if these renderings from Smartphone France are any indication, I'd say the iPAQ is BAQ!

Looks like two device series with Windows Mobile 6 Professional and a requisite touchscreen: the 600 and 900. The 600 appears to be a large candy bar style, while the 900 looks very much like a cross between a Nokia e61 and a T-Mobile Dash. Both appear to be quad-band GSM devices with UMTS/HSDPA support, QVGA screens, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, Assisted GPS and a 3-megapixel camera. Hopefully, there will be an option for a camera-less device as more businesses and government agencies do not permit cameraphones. I'm not yet sold on the touch sensitive nav wheel on the 600 keypad and would love to try it to see how well it works; then again, if the device has a touchscreen, the wheel might not see much use.

More like "IPAQ is BAD" if you ask me. QVGA? Yuck.

I agree that HP could have made a much bigger splash with a VGA version, but maybe this is just a first step.
