Acer buys Gateway for $710M

Acer has acquired US PC maker Gateway for $710 million it was announced today.  The deal will be finalized in December but has been approved by the boards of both companies.  The CEO of Acer has stated the moo-cow Gateway branding will continue to be used, and the annual revenue of the combined companies is $15 billion.  This is news that will have a tremendous impact on the mobile computing space as both companies are big in the notebook and Tablet PC market.  I know I can't wait to see a black and white spotted Ferrari notebook.
