Sprint and Clearwire march down the WiMAX wedding aisle

Sprint_ahead_logo Just as municipal WiFi networks are starting to take a foothold, the next best thing is starting to come together. We've heard that an upcoming Intel platform will provide support for WiMAX and today it looks like that WiMAX network in the U.S. will be a joint venture between Sprint and Clearwire. Assuming the deal passes legal scrutiny by the DOJ and FCC, the companies expect to have WiMAX coverage available to 100 million web-izens by the end of next year.
