ThinkPad Reserve to be revealed today
That fancy leather-clad ThinkPad that has been rumored for a while will apparently be revealed officially today. I just visited the ThinkPad Reserve website and found this:
We'll see if we can snag an invite to this exclusive launch. :)
UPDATE: Just got this from Lenovo- it will be $5,000, is not a Tablet PC, just a luxury leather-clad ThinkPad laptop. It is in celebration of the ThinkPad's 15th anniversary and sports no new software nor hardware components. Like most luxury items if you have to ask how much it costs...

Not a Tablet PC? Good. Now I won't have to figure out how to raise $5000.

I thought Lenovo's complete inability to deliver any product within a reasonable time frame was a huge egg in their face. Then this comes along. So I'm supposed to pay $5K for a X61 with a leather cover glued on it? You have to be kidding me? It offers absolutely nothing desirable for the money spent. I think I may just make my own Thinkpad Reserve and undercut Lenovo by about $3000.

I have to agree with Duffy, it is just an X61 with a leather cover, which seems like a step down. That just means it's heavier and more prone to damage. Was there anything special for the Reserve aside from the leather? O wait there limited edition number must justify $3000...right?
