HTC touch online demo

HTC now has a full web site up devoted to the innovative Touch phone.  It is chock full of video and information about the Touch and has a nice online demo of the Touch features.  Here's the tasty wasabi green version of the Touch:

UPDATE:  Arne Hess of the unwired has a video of the TouchFLO interface in action.

"Innovative"... yes, Apple are very innovative. HTC, however, seem to be pretty half-a**ed at copying them... ;)

Let's not get too excited here and revise history: Apple did not invent touch interfaces nor were they the first to implement them.

No, but from everything I've seen so far it seems like they are doing it right. The software and hardware seems to work great, have a snappy response and be well thought out. The slow, flickering WM interfaces look very dated now.

I find it quite pathetic the way HTC has tried to mimic the Apple approach here but without the careful attention to detail. It's just a layer on top of WM, with the usual slooow response (especially that section in the video of it drawing icons one at a time... ick) with the usual touch screen layer on top.

The demo video I saw on another site (and this seemed official-ish) had the guy pushing on one icon three times before it registered the keypress, which is no surprise since the touch layer on the HTC is almost guaranteed to be geared towards stylus use, with all that that entails (a small, firm touch point as opposed to a big fuzzy fingerprint one.)

I'm so completely not impressed with this machine. In fact, I find it pretty pathetic.
