Comapping: collaborative mindmapping web service

Comapping_2

Chalk up another mindmapping opportunity, only this one is a collaborative web-service that's fee based: enter the aptly named comapping. Comapping offers a 30-day trial, but after that you'll pay a fee for six months of service. Two positives here: there's no software to download and the fee is very reasonable; just $11.99 for a half-year. The collaborative feature is also very appealing: provided your mind-melding cohorts paid their twelve bucks, you and about twenty of your farthest friends can share, view and even edit mindmaps simultaneously.

You won't get all the bells and whistles of our fave (Mindjet's MindManager), but comapping appears to be a nice compromise between having enough features to be productive and not overwhelming you with a gazillion functions. It has an Office 2007-like ribbon interface and you can export your maps to MindManager, Word (Rich Text Format) or the web as HTML pages. Your maps are stored on the server for up to three years after you let your subscription lapse, so there's no need to panic if you decide to re-up later on. If you're looking for a web-based mindmap tool to use across multiple OS platforms by yourself or with a team, comapping is worth the 30 day free preview if not the brief video demo.
