Over 6 million served- it's contest time at jkOnTheRun!

Kevin and I are very happy to announce our 6 millionth page view was served up this week, making jkOnTheRun one of the biggest (and best, but that’s just our opinion) mobile technology blogs on the Internets.  JK Icon 100pixKevin cartoonIn celebration of this momentous event, we are kicking off a mega-contest featuring a ton of very expensive prizes.  What we plan to do is kick off a new contest every few days with a super prize to be awarded to the first entrant who successfully completes the task.  Oh yes, these prizes are so good you’re going to have to work a little to win them.  Each contest will take the form of a scavenger hunt where we ask you to find a particular post (or comment) on jkOnTheRun.  It should be a lot of fun and to give you an idea how good the prizes are take a look at the sponsors who have donated loot for the contest:

We’re going to keep the contests running until we run out of prizes so everyone will have a shot at winning something.

Vista UltimateThe first contest is for a super prize, a copy of Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate ($450 MSRP).  No pansy Home, Basic or Pro for our readers, this is the Ultimate version of Vista, a full license so you can install it on anything you want.  Here’s what you have to do to win the prize:

Leave a comment on this post containing the actual web link (permalink) from somewhere on jkOnTheRun that answers this question-

Find the very first post that offers a hands-on look at the Sony U70 ultra-portable PC.

That’s all you have to do, so get busy looking.  The first commenter with the correct link in the comment gets a full boxed version of Vista Ultimate.

Probably wrong, and I never win anything anyways, but may as well try...

If you're asking for the "hands on", I believe it was:

http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkontherun/2004/07/sony_u70_jack_o.html

... from July 1, 2004.

Well, here's hoping!

unboxing at http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkontherun/2004/07/sony_u70_jack_o.html

however I'd say http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkontherun/2004/07/sony_u70_review.html is the first genuine official review as you suggest that you hadn't finished the review in this post http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkontherun/2004/07/sorry_for_the_s.html

so Emily gets it I guess :)

I'd have to say that based on your question the first review was: http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkontherun/2004/07/sony_u70_review.html
Frick

Bah! I don't want Vista. Declare a winner already and move onto to some *real* l00t!

May 12 2004... picture of a hand (not JK) holding the U70

I object to the derogatory use of the word "pansy".

Well, I'm going to go a little further back than others have:
http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkontherun/2004/05/ultra_portables.html

I think this is it...I think.

The actual first hand-on linked by JK was not from JK :)
Here's the link to it:

:P

I was wrong the very first hand-on review was cited there:
http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkontherun/2004/06/sony_u70_video.html
(and was previously posted... bye bye vista :))) )

how about a competition for your oversees readers who miht be asleep for a few hours by the time a competition goes up?
The first reference to someone having reviewing via a hands on was (as Nikoooo says) a link in the post http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkontherun/2004/06/sony_u70_video.html (though by non-jkOTR persons and http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkontherun/2004/07/sony_u70_jack_o.html as the first by james the jkOTR person.

I feel it is the following as well:
The first reference to someone having reviewed via a hands on experience (as Nikoooo says) was a link in the post http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkontherun/2004/06/sony_u70_video.html (though it was not by jk and http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkontherun/2004/07/sony_u70_jack_o.html as the first by jk.

This is what prompted me to ultimately purchase a Sony U-750P (which I still own).

It's the very last article. That's the permalink that points to the index that talks about the u70. :)
