HTC confirms no Via in the Shift

The original reports that bounced around the web covering the HTC Shift, an innovative UMPC with a sliding keyboard stated that the Shift would be powered by a Via processor.  Then today it was reported that the Shift would come with one of the new Intel Ultra Mobile Platform 2007 processors.  I reached out to HTC and here's the real dope- the HTC Shift will indeed be powered by one of the new Intel processors, the report that it would be Via-powered was incorrect.  You can find the full press release after the jump.  I can't wait to get my hands on one of these babies.  :)
