Fujitsu announces two Tablets with Flash drives
C/NET is reporting today that Fujitsu will be offering two Tablet PCs, the P1610 and B6210, with Flash drives instead of traditional hard drives. The bad news is they are only offering 16 GB and 32 GB options, neither of which are likely to be large enough to satisfy the road warrior. I traipsed around the Fujitsu sites but couldn’t find them actually offered yet. The C/NET piece is amusing as the author states that Tablet PCs are good candidates for Flash drives because “they probably get dropped more often than other computers”. Thank goodness, I thought it was just me. Seriously, having used a Samsung Q1 with a 32 GB flash drive I can state from experience that the performance increase and battery life extension realized through dropping the hard drive are not insignificant. I guess the phrase “dropping the hard drive” was unfortunate in this case. 
I was going to make a sarcastic remark, but then I realized I did drop my old tablet twice (and it still runs). Zero so far for my new one (fingers crossed while knocking on wood).
