TellMe: like Google's TXT search but uses voice

Tellme_1

I'm pretty hooked on that Google TXT search for finding business addresses and phone numbers; in fact, I just demonstrated it at a family birthday over the weekend. Who knew we'd get together to celebrate a birthday and need to find the nearest fish market?

TechCrunch spilled the beans on a new, similar service called TellMe, which launched this morning. This free Java application gets installed on your mobile phone and you simply use voice to "ask" your phone for information on a business. TellMe will return the phone number, address and even a map for directions. Sounds like the same type of info you can get from texting Google, but it takes advantage of the microphone in your mobile so you can do this relatively hands free. Speaking of "free", the service and app are free and of course, require a Java enabled phone.
