A-Data 128 GB solid state disk spotted in the wild

Adata 128 ssdI have gone on video record showing just how big an impact a solid state disk (SSD) can have on the performance of mobile devices with less than stellar hardware components.  My stint with the Samsung Q1 SSD left me with no doubt just how big a performance difference having a SSD drive instead of a regular hard disk can be.  I still miss my Q1 (Flash), who is at this moment probably the only computer with an SSD in Angola.  The only problem I had with the SSD in the Q1 was capacity, as it didn’t take me long to fill up the 32 GB SSD with all the stuff I put on it and I was frequently wishing for a bigger drive.  I may not have long to wait as A-Data has announced a 128 GB SSD in a 2.5 inch form factor that will hit the market mid-year.  While I couldn’t find any information about pricing for this bad boy if it comes out with a reasonable price this could find its way in a lot of devices.  Just imagine having 128 GB in your device with no moving parts.

Typo in the title! GB not MB!

Not just the title. Hmm...
Sorry, sympathy protocol being overridden by sarcasm chip, can't resist one dig...
"Just imagine having 128 MB in your device with no moving parts." --Imagine it? I just popped in a Memory Stick and did it! ;P

Sumo, you're a real comedian. :) For the record, in addition to being able to carry 128 MB in my pocket, I can also carry 18 hours of battery life in there at the same time. Sure I'll walk funny and list to one side but I can do it. :)

My LifeDrive will soon have 4GB SSD too! Nyah-nyah!

I hate to upset you JK but you no longer have your Q1 and even if you did you couldn't fit a 2.5inch drive in there!

Methinks I had too much coffee today!

Yeah, but he just might be able to fit the new SSD into Miyagi... Hmm, now I miss having a "malicious grin" smiley.
