Video review of Sony UX with Flash Memory
Akihabara News has produced a 14 minute video review of the new flash memory-based Sony UX90PS and they like what they see. The UX90PS is Sony’s model of the Micro PC that uses a 16 GB flash drive instead of a physical hard drive, a move to provide faster speeds and better battery life. Check out the video to see it for yourself. I personally think 16 GB of principal storage is not enough but with 32 GB (if it becomes available) would be nice.

Totally agree with you on the 16GB not being enough for primary storage here in the States, but maybe the wireless environment in Tokyo makes it more viable to store your data elsewhere and tap it when needed. Yes, that would cut into the battery boost provided by flash, but maybe the drain of constant wireless activity motivated the switch to flash. I'd be interested in learning what factors motivated the switch.

Have got over the 16gb flash memory - reconciled over 8gb CF card and 4gb memorystick availabiliy. I understand the constraints of installing software, but its really data I need and using cf / memory sticks are ok for me. THe colour just makes it too.
Mine has just shipped today...so should have it this week.
That Frenchman is funny isn't he.
