My name is James and I'm a neophiliac

Research conducted at the Yamagata University School of Medicine in Japan has discovered that a genetic predisposition to an enzyme called monoamine oxidase A can lead to an addiction to gadgets.  People with high levels of this enzyme often have a driving need to own the latest and greatest gadgets that use the latest technology.  OK, acknowledging the problem is the first step to a cure.  But gadgets are just so cool.  Neophiliac makes me feel so... dirty.

Add me to that club man! :D

This post had me laughing all the way to the newsagents, where I began looking for the latest magazines that might have new gadgets in them...

Should I adjust my diet? (Buy a tablet and it'll be stale bread and water - still I'm loving my x51v - did I just say that? Ooohhh now I'm feeling so...dirty);-)

I'd go to a meeting, but I'm 15 days clean and if I see something new and shiny clipped to someone's belt, I just know I'll relapse.

I thought of you and Kevin when I watched yesterday's GeekBriefTV video podcast that talked about this. Glad you are admitting you have a problem ;)

Mike, we never admitted to have a problem, just a name for our "hobby"....*evil grin*

I'm just glad we all have jkOnTheRun for therapy... although, really, you and Kevin are both enablers. :)

Todd, think of us as your sponsors. I like the sound of that better. ;)

From one Neophiliac to another - If you add restless leg syndrome (RLS) to this mix you end up breaking all of your gadgets.
Just a warning.

Kevin,
I think Pusher is the word you're looking for, not sponsor.
These guys are gadget addicts.

My wife has just forgiven me for splashing out on a new Fujitsu lifebook 1510 tablet 2 weeks ago, which is now to me like Sammy is to you. An absolute wonder - my first tablet and new baby to boot.

Kind regards
