MTV to launch URGE this week

MTV is poised to launch their new music downloading service on Wednesday which coincides with the Windows Media Player 11 beta launch.  This is appropriate because URGE works in tandem with WMP 11 to offer music downloads on a subscription plan.  There are two plans that will be offered, a $9.95 a month plan that gets you unlimited download privileges and a $14.95 To Go plan that lets you download music to your portable audio player.  There will be a two week trial period that you don't even need a credit card to initiate which is nice.  What makes URGE attractive for consumers is the seamless integration with WMP 11 that rivals the iTunes/ iTunes Music Store integration and of course that all you can eat download plan is much better than iTunes.  This may soon be the service to beat.
