Domestic flight cell phone ban no problem- just Skype me

Nine companies are participating in an FCC auction for frequencies that could provide Connexion type services on US flights.  Connexion by Boeing is the WiFi service currently being offered on international flights.  The two companies that will be winning bidders in the FCC auction will be able to offer a similar service on flights in the US and you may soon find your seatmate chatting away over Skype or other VoIP services, even though cellphone usage is banned.  Several surveys have been conducted in the past and find that flyers in the US are dead set against allowing travellers to use their cellphones during flight in due to the irritation factor.  Fellow travellers may soon be able to call over WiFi anyway if these companies have their way.
