Acer C310 Tablet PC- when you need big fonts

Acer has been producing some nice notebooks and Tablet PCs and they have recently released the C310 Tablet PC.  The new Acer sports a 14.1" screen running at XGA (1024 x 768) so everything on the screen will be nice and big.  Huge, actually.  May be the perfect Tablet for those with poor eyesight.  Seriously, if anyone can explain to me why such a large screen should be so low resolution then please do, I'm really interested.  The C310 otherwise is a very nice Tablet with some high power specs including dedicated graphics, up to a 2.13 GHz Pentium M processor and a 100 GB hard drive (wow!).
